Our team is made up of highly skilled, talented master woodworkers and designers that are true craftsmen and artists. It's their passion to bring all of their attention and artistic integrity to every product that Hans Fredrick creates. We craft doors, cabinets, millwork & furniture. We bring an integrated product. As skilled craftsmen and designers, it is our goal to provide the highest quality custom cabinets, doors, millwork and furniture at a fair price.

Because we handcraft all of our products, we are able to offer virtually unlimited design opportunities. You have the freedom to change the wood, grain, size, style and finish to your specification. We can even do distressing, mixed wood species and match existing doors perfectly. We do not have pre-built doors in stock, we build it for you specifically, all within our standard 3-4 week lead time.

our history
Hans Fredrick, Inc was organized in 1989 by John Hilla, who is 4th generation home builder. At the time, Hans Fredrick, Inc was a custom cabinet builder working out of Burnsville, Minnesota. The name Hans Fredrick was selected to identify with an old German Master Cabinetmaker. Legend has it that the quality and craftsmanship of Hans Fredrick’s products were unmatched. Using authentic craftsman artistry to highlight the beauty of wood, Hans Fredrick developed a sense of permanence, quality and warmth that was unique.

We picked up where Hans Fredrick left off, and continued selling custom built cabinets, doors, millwork and furniture to homeowners, architects and building contractors. In 2000, the company expanded to create American Prairie Homes. Our talented staff and expanded workshop allowed us to provide custom home design and build services, with the same quality our clients grew to expect from Hans Fredrick, Inc. In 2003, both companies moved to our current 12,000 square foot facility in Lakeville, Minnesota.
